Into the Emberlands: Carrying Light is in early access

You are a bearer of Light. Grab your trusty lantern and head to the Emberlands to rescue the Nacks, who are lost in the wilds. Gather resources for your research and lead the Nacks back to their village. Use the resources and new residents to rebuild the village and transform it from shacks to a safe haven! But be warned: if your lantern light goes out while you’re walking, you’ll become lost yourself, and the next Lightbringer will have to take your place…

Into the Emberlands is a cozy exploration game with RPG elements, evolved from a former project of German studio Tiny Roar (authors of XEL, Bomb Bots Arena, Lou’s Lagoon) called Wanderful. With an open and iterative approach to development, the game has come a long way from the original concept, leading to the decision to give the project a new name that better suits the game.

You set out to explore beautiful procedurally generated biomes, searching for lost nacks and encountering unusual locals along the way, from lazy trolls and mad scientists to… chickens. They all slip you their own quests and lucrative offers. Some of them may seem rather dubious, but they promise unique rewards (from resources and tools to upgrades to your gear). Choose which offers you’re willing to accept and which ones you’re willing to skip – it’s all up to you!

As you reclaim precious resources and answer the calls of the Nacks, helping them rebuild stores and homes, your village expands and flourishes, paving the way for future new explorations and bringing you one step closer to unraveling the mysteries of Miasma.

On June 19, 2024 Into the Emberlands was released on Steam Early Access under the wing of publisher Daedalic Entertainment. Russian localization has been brought, you can try it. The game development plan has already been submitted by the publisher.

  1. I am thrilled to see Into the Emberlands: Carrying Light in early access! The unique blend of cozy exploration and RPG elements, along with the procedurally generated biomes, sounds incredibly engaging. Tiny Roar’s decision to evolve the game from Wanderful to this new title seems like a fantastic move. I can’t wait to rescue the Nacks and see how the village transforms over time. The quirky characters and their intriguing quests add a delightful touch to the adventure. Kudos to Daedalic Entertainment for supporting such an innovative project! Looking forward to diving into the mysteries of Miasma.
