Bleak Faith: Forsaken was originally released on PC, in March 2023, and its creators at Archangel Studios have supported the project with numerous free content updates since launch, including a cooperative multiplayer mode, to create a truly epic open-world RPG.
On August 6, 2024, the game will be released on PS5 and XBSX consoles under the wing of publisher Perp Games. We had a chance to check out the PlayStation version:
Bleak Faith: Forsaken is a third-person action-RPG horror with third-person survival elements in a souls-like open world, in which you play as one of the Forsaken, the last frontier of humanity, battling the growing horrors of the Omnistructure. The interconnected and surreal world is a unique blend of dark gothic medieval world and violent and crumbling modernist architecture.
The game is immersed in an extremely oppressive atmosphere. Despite this it is the battles that will make you reach the limits of your abilities. Positioning, timing and resource management are something you should always keep in mind. Choose a class and progress towards your ideal play style. But remember, not every choice is reversible, so decide wisely in which direction you will develop your character.
Explore the last remnants of civilization in this vast, ruthless and interconnected world. Discover what’s left of its history. Discover pockets of civilization in the ever-expanding Omnistructure, rich in atmosphere and full of danger. Not all paths are laid out and arranged just for you, so be prepared to run, climb, and jump to rise to the top in Bleak Faith.
“The “final” console version of Bleak Faith: Forsaken has a number of additional upgrades over the current PC version. In addition to utilizing console features such as the DualSense controller, these updates include an updated block and parry system, charged powerful attacks, several new enemies, a new boss model, an updated protagonist model, big UI changes, and a rework of the controls.
