The sequel to the space 4X-strategy Sins of a Solar Empire will launch on Steam on August 15

Sins of a Solar Empire is a mixture of RTS and 4X-strategy about building a space empire. The first part was released back in 2008 and received excellent reviews, and now a full-fledged sequel is coming to Steam.

Sins of a Solar Empire II retains the combination of combat RTS with 4X depth, and offers meticulous simulation of every missile, turret, and ship in battles. The global map is meticulous too – every asteroid, satellite and planet comes in handy in your conquest of the galaxy.

Among the main features of the second part stand out:

Three unique playable races with two sub-factions.

Secondary factions that can become important allies for you through the influence system.

New economic model with detailed customization of production on planets.

10-person multiplayer with the ability to seamlessly enter matches or continue them after a break.

Thousands of ships easily handled by the new 64-bit multi-core engine.

Particularly large ships with special augmentations.

A built-in browser for mods.

Two years ago, Sins of a Solar Empire II debuted on the Epic Games Store in Early Access format, and on Steam it is released immediately as a release version. The game has already been promised a first subscription of four add-ons – one small, one medium, and two large.

Sins of a Solar Empire II will launch on Steam on August 15.

  1. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Sins of a Solar Empire II, and it’s fantastic to hear it’s finally launching on Steam on August 15! The combination of RTS and 4X-strategy in the original game was phenomenal, and it looks like the sequel is set to expand on that foundation brilliantly. The addition of three unique races with sub-factions, a new economic model, and 10-person multiplayer sounds like it will offer endless hours of strategic gameplay. The meticulous simulation and the new 64-bit multi-core engine should make for an incredibly immersive experience. Can’t wait to dive back into the galactic conquest!
